A machining shop running flood coolant fills with a fine mist that settles on everything - which is how floors become slippery, electronics fail early and operators develop respiratory complaints. A mist collector mounted on the machine or ducted to it pulls that aerosol out of the enclosure, separates the liquid and returns it to the sump, so the coolant goes back to work instead of onto the floor.
Dust and fume work is a project rather than a purchase: hoods, ducting, collector, fan and controls all have to be sized together or the system underperforms from the first day.
