The whole point of an engine-driven unit is that it goes where the power does not. Towed behind a pickup, it runs breakers and rock drills on a road job, feeds a sandblasting pot on a tank farm, or dries and tests a pipeline miles from the nearest transformer. Output is quoted in free air delivery rather than motor rating, because what matters on site is how many tools it will run at once.
