Hot water is not simply water that is warmer. Above about a hundred degrees the seal faces, the bearing lubricant and the differential expansion between casing and impeller all become design problems, and a standard pump put on that duty typically fails at the seal within weeks. A high-temperature pump has a cooled bearing housing, a seal arrangement suited to the temperature, and clearances worked out for the expansion - which is why it lasts on boiler feed and thermic fluid service.
Pumps are specified against a duty point, a fluid and a temperature, and getting any of the three wrong tends to show up as a seal failure rather than a performance complaint.
